Search Engine Version 2 released - 27/08/2009

As a commitment to continuous improvement of our product, we are thrilled to announce the release of version 2 of derilab's acclaimed search engine. Beyond the neat new layout and the feeling of lightness and space, this new version will allow you to manage your search results in an easy and intuitive way and, more importantly, faster. Here some of the new improvements:

• Interface layout: the general layout has been re-designed in order to use screen space more efficiently. You will find this particularly useful when reviewing search results.
• Search: The number of products corresponding to your current search criteria is now displayed at the bottom of the search page and is updated as you make your selections. This enables you to avoid searches that would yield too many, or no results at all, and get a general feeling about the distribution of products.
• Wide-screen presentation of search results: the search results columns can now take up all the screen in width. More results can be shown since each product can be shown on one single line.
• Collapsable left menu: on each page, the left menu can be hidden or shown by clicking on the little arrow icon just above the 'Start' link. The state of the menu is remembered individually on each page. This feature is particularly useful on the search results page.
• Resizable columns: each column on the search results pages can be resized to your liking. Use this feature to use up all available space on your screen. The width of the columns are stored with your profile and will be kept from one session to the other. Resizing is easy: position the mouse pointer on the separation between two columns, hold the left mouse button down and drag to the right or to the left.
• Movable columns: put the information that is more important to you first! On the search results page, columns can be positioned in any sequence, enabling you to customize your search result page for an optimized reading of your results. To move a column, click on its header (the mouse pointer will change into a hand), hold the left mouse button down and move the column horizontally. A red line indicates the new position for the column once you release the mouse button.
• Pagination of results: when your search returns many products, they ae now presented in one or multiple pages, indicated by the 'paginator control' just above the search results. You can easily change the number of products per page, increasing it for example if you prefer to see many products per page and use the browser's scrollbar to view them all.
• 'Submit product' menu: If you cannot find a product you know about in derilab, we can find the information about it, including termsheet, classify it, enter all the data and alert you via email when done.
